First Day of A New Job + What I’m Reading

It’s the morning of the first day of my new job. I feel a little nervous, but I’m eager to get started. So eager in fact that I got up way earlier than I needed to. 

After getting ready, I was feeling antsy. I couldn’t bear just sitting around the apartment.

I decided to head to a カフェ, nurse an iced tea, and read a new book.

My boyfriend was telling me it is quite famous in Japan, but I had never heard of it before. But as a horror nut, it sounded right up my alley. 

Anyway, I thought I’d give a little update. Here’s to a wonderful first day of work (｀_´)ゞ

Unexpected Heisei Gal Haul at WeGo ♡

I was meeting a friend in Ikebukuro yesterday and got there a bit early〜

So I decided to kill some time wandering around Parco… and by total accident, I stumbled upon a Heisei brand revival at WeGo！！！Σ(ﾟωﾟﾉ)ﾉ

I seriously had no idea this was happening… it was such a beautiful little coincidence ♡ 笑

Soooo, of course I had to take a peek at what they had〜 let’s do a haul!! ✨

They weren’t offering much variety aside from some iconic logo pieces, but I still scored some super cute brand tanks from Love Boat, Me Jane, and Jassie!!

They also had Rose Fan Fan, but honestly… I wasn’t feeling the logo… (¬‿¬ )

Also picked up this cute Jassie zip-up hoodie〜

And this Me Jane trucker hat

Plus these Jassie & Me Jane pouches!

Buuut, as is very typical in Japan (and since WeGo is technically a brand for teens lol), most of the tops weren’t exactly designed with my adult-woman assets in mind…

BUT!!! No worries〜 we’ll make it work somehow♡ (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)੭

Come With Me To Get Breakfast at Family Mart〜♡

I was up at five this morning and decided to step out for some breakfast〜 (´∀｀*)

The only place in Japan that’s open 24/7 is the conbini. Old reliable. 

So… come with me to grab something to eat！

I seriously love Japanese streets.
I don’t know why, but even things that are objectively not beautiful like utility poles seem kinda romantic here
Pretty sure the sunrise helps (´ω｀)

The closest conbini to me is a Family Mart, so I made my way over.

Looks like someone had a fun night… (笑)

There really is no one as omnipresent in Japan as Ohtani. He’s literally everywhere. Always watching.

I don't know if it's just me, but I always feel like he looks like he's being held at gunpoint in all these advertisements, 笑

I walked in not really knowing what I wanted, just decided to follow my heart♡ lol

It’s summer, so they had a nice selection of cold noodles.
I thought soba sounded perfect〜

These donuts were also totally calling my name (｡>∀<｡)

So I ended up leaving with soba, donuts, a café latte, and jasmine tea.
Maybe kind of a weird breakfast… but whatever〜 I do what I want (＾3＾)〜♪

The Ganguro Girls book is one of my favorite sources for fashion inspo, so I thought I’d put together another look inspired by it.

Since I named my last coord, I’ll call this one “Sweet Junko,” after her:

I remember seeing a scan of this photo on Pinterest (?) ages ago, and it was a major catalysts for me getting into old school gyaru.

I just love everything about this look: the hair, the make, the pose… it’s all perfect.

Loveil Lenses First Impressions〜！(＾ω＾)

 I tried out those contacts I bought yesterday! Well, the loveil ones.

This make is kind of a hot mess because I was sweating while putting it on (do not recommend lol), but I think the contacts are really lovely.

I’m excited to wear them again!! ♡

I’m calling this look “Mie in the Sky With Diamonds”, after the girl who inspired it♡

It’s not an exact replication, of course〜 had to take some artistic liberties with the shoes & bag.

But I was taken by the whole psychedelic dress + knit hat + 90s sunnies combo. 

めっちゃ可愛いって感じで、自分なりにアレンジしてみたよ〜♪

Circle Lenses & Skytree Views

I’m back in Tokyo now and it’s !!! SO !!! HOT !!! (；´Д｀)

I ventured out for a psychiatrist appointment and honestly felt like such a sweaty little hog lol.

Thank god the trains were nice and air-conditioned〜マジ助かった！！

I think I would’ve ended my life right then and there if they weren’t... (笑)

Here are two pics of me on the train: one on the Den-en Toshi line...

Here’s my super critical, highly anticipated review of each line (which i know you've all been patiently waiting for) (´▽｀*)→ both were lovely and cool, but the Oedo line also smelled really nice, which is actually kinda miraculous for public transport in the middle of summer. So amazing job Oedo! You go Oedo!

My psych is in Roppongi (if you live in Tokyo and have mental health issues, you probably go to the same clinic lol).

I got there early, so I grabbed a coffee at the nearby Tully's and just waited it out〜

Also wore my Family Mart socks today (´∀｀)b

でも！managed to redeem myself with the second shot〜☆

After picking up my prescription, I popped over to the Donki across the street.

I seriously missed Donki so much while I was away (；ω；)

On a whim, I grabbed some lenses. I used to wear them a lot when I was doing more tsuyome / gyaru kei make, and even though I’m mostly in my old-school era, I kinda wanna work lenses back in…☆

The ads for lenses are always sooo cute (｡♥‿♥｡)

Apparently Vivienne Westwood makes contacts now???

Obviously I had to try those, so I got them in beige.

I thought about getting blue but every time I wear blue contacts I just feel like that one picture of Miley Cyrus 笑

Also love the advertising and packaging for the Gal Never Die brand. Didn’t get them this time since I already have some at home I need to use up.

The second pair I picked up were from loveil in Chrome Grey!!

Honestly, the reason I chose these (besides the lenses themselves) is because Koda Kumi is the ambassador.

And in Koda Kumi we trust. (｀・ω・´)ゞ

Anyway, I also grabbed two lens cases that I’ll probably sticker bomb later because I’m incapable of leaving a blank space alone. Even my kettle and rice cooker are covered in stickers lol〜
